UV blocking rate refers to the percentage of ultraviolet rays (300-380nm) in sunlight that are blocked by the system, usually expressed as a percentage. Testing UV protection is an essential step in the manufacturing and processing process in many industries such as automotive glasses, UV protective equipment, and sunglasses. The Three-Wavelength UV Lamp XEPU-1338LMS provides short-wave, medium-wave, and long-wave UV radiation and can be used to test if a product blocks all three types of UV radiation.
The equipment used in UV protection testing includes:
1). Three-Wavelength UV Lamp XEPU-1338LMS: This UV lamp provides three types of UV light (UVA, UVB, and UVC), which can comprehensively test the product's blocking effect on different wavelengths of ultraviolet light.
2). A calibrated UV illuminometer.
To test a product's UV blocking effects, follow the steps below:
1). Prepare the sample and ensure that the surface of the sample is clean.
2). Fix the Three-Wavelength UV lamp XEPU-1338LMS on the stand, as shown in the following figure.
3). Place the sample under the Three-Wavelength UV lamp. Turn on the switch for UVA to irradiate the sample.
4). Place the sensor of the UV illuminometer under the sample and test the UV intensity. If the UV intensity is very low, it means that the sample can effectively block UV rays. Otherwise, it means that ultraviolet radiation can penetrate the sample.
5). Repeat the above steps to test the blocking effect of the sample on medium-wave ultraviolet light (UVB) and short-wave ultraviolet light (UVC).
